The Plenum and the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation play a central role in the work of the Court and in promoting the uniform application of law by Russian courts.
Plenum of the Supreme Court
The Plenum of the Supreme Court consists of all judges of the Supreme Court and is chaired by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
The Plenum provides clarifications on issues of judicial practice, considers matters related to the Supreme Court’s right of legislative initiative and addresses other important issues concerning the administration of justice and the functioning of the judicial system.
Resolutions of the Plenum are signed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the Secretary of the Plenum. They are taken into consideration by courts in the administration of justice.
