Krasnov Igor Viktorovich

Born in 1975 in Arkhangelsk.

Graduated from the M.V. Lomonosov Pomor State University with a degree in jurisprudence.

Since 1997, he worked in the prosecutor's office.
From 2006 to 2007, he was an investigator in the central office of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
In 2007, he joined the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. He served as a senior investigator for particularly important cases under the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
In April 2016, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
From 2020 to 2025, he served as Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and as an Active State Counselor of Justice.

He has received state awards and recognitions, including the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland," 2nd Class (2011), the Certificate of Honor of the President of the Russian Federation (2014), and the Order of Alexander Nevsky (2020).

By Resolution No. 399-SF of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation dated September 24, 2025, he was appointed Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
